Tokyo's Best Bites

Japan is well-known for its delicious sushi but there are so many other amazing dishes that make my mouth water just by thinking about it. There is a broad variation like Ramen, Okonomiyaki, Yakitori, and the list goes on! The best place to get a taste of a little bit of everything is at Tokyo's famous Tsukiji Market. Here you can explore Japan's most popular dishes and street food. This market is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world! At 3:00 am is where the games begin as you can see for yourself the arrival of the products by ship, truck, and plane from all over the world. Here are the top foods we most enjoyed in the Tsukiji Market.

Tokyo

1. Uniman from Hamada Shoten

This is a Squid Ink flavored bun filled with

sea urchin cream and fresh sea urchin, very interesting texture but SO GOOD!

2. Shumai from Saiwaiken

So it might not be Japanese, it’s a dumpling, BUT it’s a must!

3. Whale Meat

For the cultural experience, that's all I have to say.

4. Mochi

A Japanese rice cake, becoming very popular in the US, if you haven’t tried one you must! This one was a Matcha Mochi

5. Tuna Bowl

There are many restaurants that serve fresh fish in bowls which of course you must try the tuna, best of its kind.

6. Tamagoyaki From Marutaket

Tamagoyaki is a famous type of Japanese omelet. (Sweet and fluffy)

7. Takoyaki

Ball-shaped Japanese snack it is

typically flour based with octopus inside it toped with tempura scarps, ginger and green onion
